Using our proprietary conversion method, we convert your standard definition PAL masters to 24p. The result is a progressive scan DVD that will have your customers praising your attention to detail. Traditional conversions using tools such as the Snell & Wilcox Alchemist are great for many purposes, but they result in ghost frames and other artifacting that are a natural result of converting video from 25fps to 29.97fps.

Our method is superior because we convert your PAL tape to 24p first, then encode it as a progressive scan MPEG-2 file for DVD. The result is a crisp, clean, artifact-free version of the film. A happy side effect of using this method is that many films will be returned to their correct running time. When film is shot at 24 frames per second, but telecine'd to PAL, the result is a slightly shorter running time (about 4%). This often causes confusion among viewers, who think that the difference in duration is due to a different edit of the film. In fact, it's because the transfer was done at a faster frame rate than the film was originally intended to be viewed at. Our conversion method corrects for this and returns the film to the original running time. Additionally, audio is pitch-corrected to ensure that everything sounds correct.
